MyChargeback Website Seized By the FBI

If you were one of MyChargeback customers, you surely noticed that their web page is no longer accessible. As it seems, the US authorities, more precisely, the FBI and California Attorney General’s office, have seized it.

Why was the MyChargeback website seized? And what does it mean for you? Let’s find out.

What Is MyChargeback?

MyChargeback recovery brand is owned by Cactil, LLC, a US-based business. The firm can be found in the New York company register as a branch of an out-of-jurisdiction company. We presume it means they’re the branch of the main firm located in Israel.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Aaron Lazor is the CEO of MyChargeback as well as founder and CEO of FBX Business Consulting, Ltd and Finscend, Ltd.

In the company register, MyChargeback listed “providing financial remedies for individuals and companies that have been victimized, deceived, or had their information compromised” as their main service. Further, the company listed “providing chargeback recovery services, including recalls and refunds from payment processing companies and providing financial due diligence.” To cut this story short, they claim they can recover assets stolen as a result of an online fraud. But can they really? Let’s take a look at MyChargeback reviews.

MyChargeback Reviews – Online Reputation Crumbling

Ever since the website seizure on the 28th of June this year, MyChargeback online reputation has been crumbling. The score on Trustpilot is poor, with only 2.7 out of 5 stars. Most of the new comments refer to the FBI seizure and customers’ inability to contact the firm. Surprisingly, they still respond to all the comments, saying they’re working closely with the authorities to resolve the issue. Furthermore, the employees have confirmed that the company’s email accounts have also been blocked, and the only way to reach out is through a phone line. And yet, reviews point out that nobody takes the calls.

We can say the situation is the same on other sites, such as Reddit and BBB. On the first of the platforms, customers have been pointing out that recovery services are rarely legitimate, especially not when the company has such a poor rating all over. At the same time, there are plenty of MyChargeback complaints with the Better Business Bureau, which is another scam sign.

Is MyChargeback Operating Alone?

As you can see from their website, the FBI marked MyChargeback as a “cryptocurrency return fraud scheme.” This has led us to believe that the same owner has other brands. And for sure, our hunch was correct.

If you look at the Assistance Refund website at assistance-refund.com, you will notice that the chat is with MyChargeback. This is a clear sign the two are cooperating. However, the Assistance Refund is still active and on the hunt. While we’re waiting for the authorities to resolve the matter, we invite you to steer clear of both brands for now. And if you have any unresolved cases with either of them, book a free consultation with our experts.

What Will Happen With MyChargeback?

As of yet, we have no official confirmation, nor have the brand owners denied anything related to this legal matter. For now, we can only wait to see how the case will be resolved.

While we do so, you should be aware of your rights. Since the reviews point out that MyChargeback charges initial fees, mainly in crypto, it means you might have paid for the service you won’t get. What’s worse, ironically, is that you cannot request a chargeback, as crypto transfers are not eligible for it.

If so, we invite you to share your story with our experts. We’re here to provide a free first consultation and see what can be done in case you’ve paid any money and MyChargeback was seized. Contact us immediately and let us help you with this matter before you lose more.
